Ions III
Welcome to the 3rd set of ions! You are already a pro at the first 40 ions! If not, be sure to go back and practice them! Here are 7 new ones for you to add to the collection! These new ones are all monatomic ions. Remember that monatomic ca+ions are named exactly the same way as the atom. Example: Mg = magnesium and Mg^2+ = magnesium ion. Remember that monatomic aNions end in "ide". Example: O = oxygen and O^2- = oxide. Also remember that you can determine the charge of a monatomic ion based on it's group in the periodic table.
