Science Skills - SigDigs - Rules for Zero
Use the rules for determining whether a 0 is a significant figure is significant.
Leading 0 (e.g. 0.02 ) -- not significant figure
Captive 0 (e.g. 201 ) -- significant figure
Trailing 0 (e.g. 10, 10., 0.10 )-- only significant if the number includes a decimal point.
Match a number with the correct number of significant zeros.
