Hangman: Guess the letters in a hidden word or phrase.

Spanish verbs

In a sentence Spanish verbs tell us 1) the action being done, 2) who is doing it and 3) when.

Aaron, this pattern works for the verbs in this practice exercise game.

Remember, these verbal endings go with their subjects:
yo (I) --o
tü (you) --s Usted (you formal) ---(no 's')
él, ella (he, she) ----(no 's')

nosotros (we) ---mos nosotras (we, females) ---mos
Ustedes (you all) ----n
ellos, ellas (they) ---n

Here is a sample of how to match the subject ending with a verb from the -ar family of verbs. Remember, since these verbs belong to the -ar family, they need an "a" before their subject ending (except the yo ending).

cocinar, to cook

yo cocino
tü cocinas Usted cocina
él cocina ella cocina
nosotros, nosotras cocinamos
Ustedes cocinan
ellos cocinan ellas cocinan
(I cook, you cook, he, she cooks, we cook, y'all cook, they cook)

Here are the verbs:
hablar, to speak
ganar to win
caminar, to walk
trabajar, to work
