Raven & Berg Environment

AB
Agroforestry:Both forestry and agricultural techniques are used to imporve degraded areas
Greenhouse Effect:Trapping of heat in the atmosphere
Greenhouse Gases:Gases which absorb infrared radiation
Aerosols:Tiny particles suspended in the atmosphere
Aerosol Effect:Atmospheric cooling that occurs where and when aerosol pollution is the greatest
Chloroflurocarbons (CFC's)Chemicals responsible for ozone loss in the stratosphere
Montreal Protocol:An agreement stipulating 50% CFC reductions
Acid Depostition:A type of air pollution including both wet and dry deposition
Wet Deposition:Acids in aqueos precipitation (Sulfuric + Nitric Acids)
Dry Deposition:Acids which settle out of the air
Forest Decline:Gradual deterioration and eventual death of trees
