| Cirrus | Thin, white, wispy, made of ice crystals. |
| Stratus | Flat or Layered clouds |
| Cumulus | Puffy, piled up clouds |
| Cirrus | Thin, white, wispy clouds made of tiny ice crystals. Often called "Mare's Tails" |
| Cirrostratus | A thin sheet of white ice crystals. Clouds may give the sky a milky look. The form halos around the sun and the moon. |
| Cirrocumulus | Thin, white ice-crystal clouds of small white puffs. They like up in polka dots and are often presented in what is called a "mackeral sky". |
| Altostratus | Thick, grey, sheet-like clouds. A bright blur. |
| Altocumulus | Small, white, parchy clouds, commonly resembing bulls. |
| Stratus | Low, sheet-like clouds covering large parts of the sky. Are see through. |
| Nimbostratus | Dark, layered clouds that produce rain or snow |
| Stratocumulus | A layer of large, puff patches that often look like blanket rolls. |
| Cumulus | Thick, with a puffy cauloflower appearance and flat bases. |
| Cumulonimbus | Heavy, towering clouds with flat bases. Cause thunderstorms. |
