This activity will provide students with practice and review in learning the three types of rocks and how they are formed, reviewing weathering, erosion, deposition, delta, minerials MOH's Hardness Scale, and the rock cylce.
A
B
Igneous Rocks (Fire Rocks)
Formed from hot magma from inside the earth that has cooled and hardened
Sedimentary (Layered Rocks)
Formed from sidements that are cemented and squeezed making layers
Metamorphic
Fromed from rocks being heated and squeezed deep inside the earth's crust.
Weathering
Breaking down of rocks into sediments
Erosion
Carring away of sediments from weathering
Deposition
Drops sediments in a new place forming a new land form
Delta
Formed at the mouth of the river by deposited sediments
Rock Cycle
The process of rocks changing into other kinds of rocks.
Mineral
A solid material that is formed by nature in or on Earth's crust.
