| Level | Perfectly horizontal; completely flat; a tool used to determine if an object is completely flat or perfectly horizontal. |
| Plumb | Perfectly vertical; the surface is at a right angle (90 degee) to the horizon or floor and does not bow out at the top or bottom. |
