Complimentary CloseEnding of the letter
Handwritten SignatureAuthor’s handwritten/signed name
Keyed NameThe author’s keyed name in the closing of the letter.
Letter Address/Inside AddressThe address of the receiver of the letter.
Letterheadconsists of the business’ name, address, phone/fax/email, and logo
Mixed PunctuationA colon or comma is keyed in the salutation and a comma is in the complimentary close
Open PunctuationThere is not a colon keyed in the salutation and there is not a comma in the complimentary close
Personal-Business LetterA letter written by an individual to deal with business of a personal nature
Return AddressThe address of the sender of the letter
SalutationThe greeting of a letter that is keyed a double space below the letter address.
CellThe intersection of a row and a column.
Center alignInformation/text arranged in the middle of a cell or page.
Column headingsHeadings that are centered directly above each column in a table
ColumnsThe vertical arrangement of information in a table
GridlinesThe vertical and horizontal lines in a table
Main titleThe main heading for the table
Numerical entryInformation entered into a cell that contains only numbers
RowsThe horizontal arrangement of information in a table
Secondary titlekeyed a double space below the main title
SourceNote of reference that is left aligned under the last row or in the last row of a table
TableA grid of rows and columns used to display and organize information.
Text entryInformation entered into a cell that contains alphanumeric information.
Reference list/BibliographyA list of all references used in a report
Unbound reportShort reports that are prepared without binders or covers
Side headingHeadings used to separate the report into sections.
Left boundPrepared with a binder and the left margin is wider (1.5”) to accommodate binding along the left margin.
Top boundTop margin is wider (1.5”) to accommodate binding along the top margin
Title Pageis the first page of a report
