| Action Verb | expresses physical or mental action. It shows what someone or something does, did, or will do. |
| Helping Verb | helps the main verb (the verb expressing the action) to express the action or state of being. |
| Linking Verb | links or connects the subjects with a noun, a pronoun, or an adjective in the predicate. |
| Transitive Verb | is an action verb that expresses an action directed toward a person, place, thing, or idea. Transitive verbs pass the action from the doer to the receiver (objects). |
