Define what an alliance is.group of nations that agree to achieve the same goals
Know how to explain the terms combined to lead to WWIthe countries felt a sense of pride to defend their interests, so they built up their military. Others were aggressive and wanted to build an empire. Therefore, countires formed alliances to protect themselves which pulled most into the war.
