Explain the significance of immigration.Immigrants came to America to escape religious persecution, fleeing crop failures, shortage of jobs and rising taxes. But when they were treated terribly, they had to cross the ocean into America in night tight compact areas and if they had any diseases they were immediately shipped back home. They worked for next to nothing.
