Tween-based | You create the object, define the object’s starting and ending positions; flash drars the steps between the object’s positions. |
Work area | Gray part of stage; anything in this part will not show up. Will show-up in the white area. Convenient place to place elements and animations that start off-screen. |
Properties panel | Normally sits at the bottom of the screen. Context sensitive, the info there changes depending on the tools chosen. |
Toolbar | The place where flash’s many tools reside. |
Document tabs | Shows tabs for each document opened. You can switch between documents by clicking these. |
Edit bar | On top of the timeline, shows info re: scenes, symbols, groups and timelines you are editing. |
Merge | To flatten or put together. Merged object mode; objects and fills are drawn separately and after objects are placed on top of each other they merge, replacing area where graphics merge. |
Object drawing mode | Objects are drawn as grouped elements. |
Scrubber | A small square on top of the timeline; you click and drag the to quickly preview tweens and simple animations. |
Vector | Stores info in a computer format as math info. Can be resized without the loss of quality. Smaller in size but can’t display the richness of a bitmap. |
