Alluvial fan, Sloping deposit of sediment formed when a stream leaves a mountain range.
Basin, Broad, bowl-shaped valley.
Beach, Wave-washed sediment along a coast.
Crater, Bowl-shaped area around a volcano's central opening.
Canyon, Large channel bed between mountain peaks formed by erosion.
Cave, A hollow opening in the Earth's surface that is more or less horizontal.
Cinder cone, Steep, cone-shaped hill made of volcanic ash and cinders.
Cliff, A more or less vertical drop from a mountain peak.
Delta, Sediment deposited where a river flows into an ocean or lake.
Dome mountain, A mountain formed by pressure from magma beneath the Earth's surface.
Fault, A break or crack in Earth's lithosphere along which the rocks move.
Fault-block mountain, A mountain formed when the area on one side of a fault is uplifted.
Glaciers, A large mass of moving ice and snow on land.
Gully, A shallow groove in soil formed by erosion, often on the side of hills or mountains.
Headland, A part of the shore that sticks out into the ocean.
Island, Land completely surrounded by water, and not large enough to be called a continent.
Marsh, An area of low wet land, often treeless with grasses and rushes.
Mountain, A landform with high elevations and high relief.
Plain, Landform of flat land with low relief.
Plateau, A landform that has high elevation and a more or less level surface.
Sand dune, A deposit of wind-blown sand.
Valley, A depression between uplands, hills, or mountains.
Volcano, A weak spot in the crust where magma has come to the surface.
Wash, A shallow depression formed by flowing water, often on flat land.
