| stage left | The left side of the actor when the actor is facing the audience. |
| stage right | The right side of the actor when the actor is facing the audience. |
| the pit | The area in front of the stage where the orchestra plays. |
| downstage | The area of the stage that is closest to the audience. |
| upstage | The area of the stage that is far away from the audience and closest to the back of the stage. |
| curtain call | The actors all join on stage to take a bow before the curtain closes. |
