Conjugating Modal Verbs in German (sollen and müssen)

The following exercises are geared to prepare the student for a quiz on the modal verbs sollen (should, ought to) and müssen (must, have to). There is no stem change with sollen, but there is an Umlaut change with müssen when going from the singular to plural forms.

Modal verbs are normally used withthe infinitive form of verbs.
Infinitives are the forms ofverbs found in the dictionary.
