Internet Service ProviderAllows you to log in to their computer to connect to the Internet (Ex. Cable company, phone company, etc.)

newsgroupA group of people around the world who "post" their news on the Internet. Kind of like an electronic bulletin board.
listservSimilar to newsgroups, but they post their information to the listserv, and it is sent to the group's email accounts
search enginesHuge databases that keep track of billions of web pages and have programs to help you search through them
blogsweb logs -- web-based publications
podcastaudio or video files that you can listen to on your computer or copy to an mp3 player
