Animal Positions and Direction
Vet terms used to describe the direction,position, and movement of an animals bodies.

| Ventral | underside of the belly |
| Dorsal | upperside or back area somewhat along the spine |
| Caudal | tail end of the bodyor toward the tail |
| Cranial | head or skull |
| Superficial | near the surface of the body |
| Deep | a location away from the surface |
| Distal | location farther from the center of the body |
| Rostral | near the nose |
| Medial | position that is more toward the middle of the body or limb |
