Chapter 1 Math Vocabulary
Play the following games to learn the vocabulary from Chapter 1.

| even number | a whole number that is divisible by 2. Even numbers have 0,2,4,6,or 8 in the ones place. |
| odd number | A whole number that is not divisible by 2. Odd numbers end in a 1, 3,5,7,or 9. |
| ordinal numbers | A number used to tell order or position (Example-first). |
| round numbers | To express a number to the nearest 10 or 100. (Example: 23 rounded to the nearest 10 is 20). |
| expanded form | A number written as the sum of the value of its digits (Example: 3,000+400+20+9). |
| standard form | A number written with commas separating groups of three digits (Example: 3,429). |
| word form | A number written in words (Example: three thousand, four hundred twenty-nine).) |
| sum | The answer in addition. |
| difference | The answer in subtraction. |
| place value | The value determined by the place of a digit in a number. |
