Multiplication Tricks with 8s: the double, double, double
When you multiply by 8, add the other number to itself, add that number to itself, and then add that number to itself. What is 8 x 4? 4+4=8, then add it to itself -> 8+8=16, then add that to itself -> 16+16=32
