| auditory nerve | 8th nerve, sends sound information to the brain |
| pitch | high and low sensation of sound |
| vocal chords | vibrate fast for high pitch, slow for low pitch |
| outer ear | collects sound and sends it down the ear canal |
| middle ear | filled with air and 3 bones that vibrate |
| inner ear | contains cochlea |
| balance organs | semicircular canals, hair cells, nerves and fluid |
