eardrum | membrane that vibrates, at end of ear canal |
semicircular canals | filled with fluid |
cochlear | snail like organ with hair and nerves in the inner ear |
hammer, stirrup, anvil | middle ear bones |
oval window | connects Cochlear to balance organs |
auditory nerve | 8th nerve, sends sound information to the brain |
pitch | high and low sensation of sound |
vocal chords | vibrate fast for high pitch, slow for low pitch |
outer ear | collects sound and sends it down the ear canal |
middle ear | filled with air and 3 bones that vibrate |
inner ear | contains cochlea |
balance organs | semicircular canals, hair cells, nerves and fluid |
