| Handle | Small squares that appear around an object when transforming it that allow you to move, resize, reshape, or distort the image |
| Hardness | controls a brush’s hard center and can be set using the slider or by typing in a number |
| Healing Brush tool | lets you correct imperfections in images such as dirt, smudges, and even dark circles under a subject’s eyes. You can match the background texture, lighting, and shadows or shading to “cover up” these flaws. |
| History Palette | shows the list of steps taken to create the image that you are currently working on. The History palette helps you correct errors (by storing what you’ve done to a file previously) and allows you to “go back” to a point before a particular edit was made simply by clicking on the appropriate step |

| Perspective | A Transform tool that allows you to apply perspective to an image |
| Pixel | small squares that contain color and make up the structure of an image |
| Resolution | determines how many pixels are shown per unit |
| Revert | returns the file to the condition it was in the last time it was saved |
| RGB mode | color mode that uses red, green, and blue to create the colors you see |
| Rotate | transform tool that allows you to rotate an object around its center point |
| Scale | transform tool that allows you to enlarge or reduce an image’s size horizontally, vertically, or both |
| Bounding Box | available from the options bar when you choose the Move tool or the Path Selection tool. Checking this box allows you to see the area that surrounds a selected object, which in turn makes it easier to move, resize, and rotate a selection |
| Swatches palette | allows you to choose a foreground or background color and allows you to add or delete colors from the swatches library of colors |
