menu bar | Provides access to commands for controlling the program |

toolbar button | Each picture is one of these and provides a shortcut for accomplishing a task. |
ribbon | Used instead of a menu bar and this provides access to commands and options. |
status bar | contains information about the current condition of the program. Ex: current page number, zoom level, or Web page address |
scroll bar | Located on the side of the window and it helps you move a document or graphic up and down within the window. |
tabs | Found on the ribbon. Divided into groups. Examples: Home, Insert, Page Layout, References, etc. |
groups | Contain the commands to perform an action. |
commands | perform the action. Example: bold, center, underline, etc. |
Microsoft Office button | Lead to many of the commands that previously existed on the File menu. Round button in top left-hand of screen. |
Quick Access Toolbar | Contains commands that you use regularly and it is completely customizable. |
Contextual tabs | Contain formatting options for an object & apper when the object is selected. |
Dialog Box Launcher | Can open dialog boxes. Located in the lower-right corner of a group. |
