Qin ShihuangdiFrom 221 – 210 BCE, he ruled the Qin Dynasty as the first emperor. He was very effective and he divided china into districts and then had a ruler for each one. He has roads built to enforce trade and allow his army to walk on it. During his time the Great Wall of China was built.
Lui BangHe ruled and created the Han Dynasty in 206 B.C.E. He centralized the dynasty after he was attacked and was almost captured
Han WudiHe was emperor of the Han Dynasty for 54 years. He was the most successful emperor. He built many roads. He sent people out to control them, and taxed people. He also had investments on salt and iron.
Han Advances of CentralizationHan Wdi worked extremely hard to expand on yhe central government. He built a bureaucracy for the emperor. For finance he issued taxes on agricultural, trade, and crafts. He relied on the legalists principles of government. He had a foreign challenge with Xuongnu. They were Nomads from central Asia.
XiongnuNomadic people from central Asia. They spoke Turkish. They were surperd horsemen. They boys learned to ride sheep at a young age and also learned how to shoot while riding them. They didn’t have amazing weapons like China. They didn’t have any cities.
Wmang Manghe was Wudis minister. He served as the young boys regent. Many people didn’t like this because he wasn’t part of Hans family. He limited the amount of land tht each family received. In 9 C.E he announced that the mandate of heaven was passed to his family. He faced the additional misfortunes of poor harvest and famine.
