| Point Size | The vertical measurement used to identify or specify the size of a typeface. Measurement is from the top of the ascender space to the bottome of the descender space |

| Stem | The vertical part of the characters |
| Stroke | The thickness of a line forming a character element |
| Stress | The slant or tilt of a character |
| Serif | The thickened tips or short finishing-off strokes at the top and bottom of a character |
