Lowercasebody letters
Body HeightThe distrance from top to bottom of the lowercase letters, also called x-height

Base LineAn imaginary line drawn along bottom of body height letters. Descenders go below it
Waist LineAn imaginary line drawn along top of body height letters
CounterThe nonprinting area surrounding a letter or inside the loop of a letter, such as d or p
Point SizeThe vertical measurement used to identify or specify the size of a typeface. Measurement is from the top of the ascender space to the bottome of the descender space
HairlineA thin line or element of a character
StemThe vertical part of the characters
StrokeThe thickness of a line forming a character element
StressThe slant or tilt of a character
SerifThe thickened tips or short finishing-off strokes at the top and bottom of a character
Set WidthThe distance across a character from side to side
