Alignment | The orientation of the lines of a paragraph with respect to the margins; options include left, right, center, and justified. |
Border | A paragraph format that displays a line on any side of a block; used to distinguish the block from regular text. Borders are generally applied to an entire paragraph or group of paragraphs. |
Character Formatting | Settings that control the attributes of individual text characters, such as font, type size, type style, and color. |
Document Format | Settings that affect the appearance of the entire document, such as page size and page orientation. |
Document Window | The portion of the program's interface in which the active document appears; here the user can work directly with the document. Also called document area. |
Landscape Orientation | A document format in which the text is printed parallel to the widest edges of the page; wide orientation. |
Margin | The space between the edige of a page and the maid body of the document. Text cannot be entered with the margin. |
Paragraph Formatting | A setting that effects the appearance of one or more entire paragraphs, such as line spacing, paragraph spacing, indents, alignment, etc. |
Portrait Orientation | A document formatin which the text is printed parallel to the narrowest edges of the page; tall orientation. |
