| hunting group of companions | loyal companions who are willing to face danger in order to be together |
| initiates | young heros, who prior to their quest, must endure training and a ceremony. Usually innocent and wear white. |
| hero | seperated from parents at birth, and we do not know much about his childhood. We meet him when he is an adolescent or older. He beats a "bad guy" and then marries a princess and they live happily ever after. In the end, he meets a mysterios death. |

| outcast | person who is banished from a social group because of a crime against a fellow man. They usually wander from place to place. |
| ritual | actual ceremony that the initiate experiences that will mark his rite of passage into another rank. |
| fall | decent from a higher to a lower state. Usually caused by the temptress |
| initiation | usually takes form of and initiation into life, going from adolescence into adulthood. |
| creature of nightmare | a monster that appears only in the hero's mind. It is NOT real! |
