PNG FileA file format that stands for Protable Network Graphics file; used for Web page images and is capable of showing millions of colors, but is small in file size.
Background ImagesAn image used in place of a background color.
Tiled ImageA small graphic that repeats across and down a Web page, appearing as individual squares or rectangles.
Seamless ImageA tiled image that is blurred at the edges so that it appears to be all one image.
Clip Art CollectionsA group of image files collected on CDs and sold with an index, or directory, of the files.
IndexThe Dreamweaver Help feature that displays topics in alphabetical order; a directory of files on a CD containing image file.
Transparent BackgroundsA background composed of transparent pixel, rather than pixels of a color, resulting in images that blend easily on a Web page background.
Royalty-FreeAn image that you can purchase and use in your published Web pages without having to pay a royalty fee to the company that created it.
Public DomainImages or text that are free to use without restrictions.
