| Tags | An individual piece of HTML code. |
| Bulleted Lists | A list of items that does not need to be placed in a specific order; also called an unorderd list. |

| External Cascading Style Sheet | A file that contains formatting codes and can be attached to multiple Web pages to quickly apply formatting to their content. |
| Internal Style Sheets | A style that uses code stored in the head content of a Web page. |
| Embedded Style | A style whose code is part of a Web page, rather than in a separate external file. |
| Inline Style | A style that uses codes stored in the body content of a Web page. |
| Class Style | A style that can be used to format any page element. |
| HTML Style | A style used to redefine an HTML page. |
| Advanced Style | A style used to format combinations of page elements. Also known as a Compound style. |
| Related Files Toolbar | The toolbar under the file tab (Win) or file title bar (Mac) that displays the names of files related to the open page file. |
| Selector | In Cascading Style Sheets, the name or the tag to which the style declarations have been assigned. |
| Declaration | Part of a Cascading Style Sheet; contains a property and a value. |
| Sans-Serif Font | A block style character used frequently for heading, sub-headings, and Web pages. In this Glossary, all the blue terms are in this font; they do not contain small strokes at the tops and bottoms of the letters. |
| Serif Font | A font with small extra strokes at hte top and bottom of the characters; used frequently for paragraph text in printed materials. All the definitions in the Glossary are set in this font. |
