Broken Link | A link that cannot find the intended distination file. |
Absolute Path | A path containing external links that references a link on a Web page ouside the current Web site, and includes the protocol "http" and the URL, or addresses, of the Web page. |
HTTP | Hypertext transfer protocol; the hypertext protocol that precedes absolute paths to external links. |
UTL | The acronym for Uniform Resourse Locator. A URL is the "address" for a Web page that can be typed in the address box in the browser to open a Web page. |
Relative Paths | A path used with an internal link to reference a Web page or an image file within the Web site. |
Root-Relative Paths | A path referenced from a Web site's root folder. |
Document-Relative Paths | A path referenced in relation to the Web page that is currently displayed. |
Named Anchors | A specific location on a Web page that is used to link to that portion of the Web. |
Target | The location on a Web page that the browser will display in full view when the user clicks an internal link. |
Code Navigator | A pop-up window that displays the name of the CSS rule, the style sheet name, and the properties of a selected page element. |
Navigation Bar | A set of text or image links that viewers can use to navigate among that pages of the Web site. |
Element | In the Insert Navigation Bar dialog box, an image link. |
Orphaned Files | A file that is not linked to any page in the Web site. |
States | On a graphical navigation bar, the appearance of an image, such as Up, Down, and Over While Down. |
Up Image State | The state of a page element when the user's mouse pointer is not on the element. |
Image | A picture or photograph |
Down Image State | The state of a page element when the element has been clicked with the mouse pointer. |
Over While Down Image | The state of a page element when the mouse pointer is being held down over the element. |
Hotspot | A clickable area on an image that, when clicked, links to a different location on the page or to another Web page. |
Over Image State | The state of a page element when the mouse pointer is over the element. |
