We use comparative adjectives to compare two nouns. We use "er" at the end of the adjective to talk about the differences.

If the adjective has a short vowel sound, we double the last letter in the adjective when we make the comparative adjective

Example: thin (short "i" sound) - thinner

If the adjective ends in "e", we only add "r" when we make the comparative adjective
