This will review the different types of verbs and help you practice the different types using different words.

| A | B |
| Verbs | Express action, they may show state of being, or they may link a noun to another word in the sentence. |
| Action verbs | Answers the question of "Can you do this?" YES! |
| State of Being Verbs | Examples are am, is, are, was, were, be, being, been |
| Linking Verbs | Examples are taste, feel, smell, sound, look, appear, become, seem, grow, remain, stay |
| Adverbs | How, when, or where the action of the verb happens, will describe or tell about the verb |
| Verb phrase | More than one word that you can "do" |
| Adverb phrase | More then one word that describes where, how or when something happens |
| Prepositional phrase | Another name for adverb phrases |
