Types of Numbers
Use this activity to help you identify types of numbers.

| Rational Numbers | Any number obtained when an integer or 0 is is divided by an integer. Examples: 2/3, 9/7, 5/1 (or 5), 0, and -3/4. All counting numbers and zero are rational numbers. |
| Integers | The set of numbers {...,-4,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,4,...}. Basically, the counting numbers, their negatives, and zero. |
| Whole Numbers | The set of numbers including {0,1,2,3,4,....} |
| Counting Numbers | The set of numbers including {1,2,3,4,....} |
| Prime Numbers | A number such as 2,5,7,11,.....that has only itself and one as factors. 1 is NOT a prime number! |
| Zero | 0 |
| Positive Integers | The set of numbers {1,2,3,4,....} |
| Negative Integers | The set of numbers {...,-4,-3,-2,-1} |
