8th AmendmentPeople may pay bail as collateral to make sure the accused appears in court. Bail must be reasonable. Bail may be denied for those accused of serious crimes like murder. This amendment also protects against cruel and unusual punishment

10th AmendmentThis amendment safeguards the powers of the states. After the fourteenth amendment applied the bill of rigths to the states however the state powers have come under scrutiny
