| Chloroplasts | In the cytoplasm of algae, some bacteria and all plants, these doucle-walled membranous structures trap the radiant energy in sunlight in molecules of glucose. They are photosynthetic machinery of cells. |
| Golgi Apparatus (Golgi Bodies) | A set of membranous structures arranged so that they resemble a stack of pancakes in which newly-made proteins are given the finishing touches and an address. Vesicles may break off the apparatus to transpot the final product to its destination. |
| Endoplasmic Reticulum | Found in the cytoplasm, it is a membranous structure which weaves through the cell. It is like a highway which allows supplies to be moved from one part of the cell to another. |
