Theodore RooseveltRepublican 1901-1908. Known as "trust-buster" led a number of progressive reforms. Served as Gov of NY, Secretary of Navy, led "Rough Riders" in Spanish American War. Became president after assassination of Pres. McKinley. Started new "Bull Moose Progressive" party but lost election of 1912
