| File Name | Must be assigned to the document when saving for the first time in MS Word |
| Margin | White space around a document where nothing will be printed (you can add comments in the margin but they will still not print on a hard copy) |
| Template | tool that helps you through the design process by offering publication options and may appear as a form |
| Header | text that can be formatted to print at the top of every page |
| Footer | text that can be formatted to print at the bottom of every page |
| Font | the appearance and shape of letters, numbers, and special characters that appear in a publication or document |
| Font Scheme | the defined set of typefaces associated with a publication or document |
| Color Scheme | set of colors that complement each other when used in the same publication or document |
| Thumbnails | gallery of small images in the backstage view appearing when selecting new files |
| Image | a graphic (gif, tif, jpeg, png)<--Common file types of images |
| Inline | positioning of graphics in a specific place and specific line of a document |
| Sizing Handles | small circles and squares called that surround a picture; any handle can be grabbed to resize the image |
| Hyperlink | a connection to a file, website, or other location; the text or image must be SELECTED first to add a hyperlink |
| Page Layout View | Accessed by using the View Ribbon and select the Print Layout option in the Document Views group |
| Print Preview | File tab enables a user to see how the finished publication or document will look on a hard copy |
