HelpUsed to get help with a program or feature.
TaskbarThe bar at the bottom of the screen. Contains the Start button, time, volume, minimized programes, etc.
Title BarLocated at the top of the Microsoft Word window and displays the document name followed by the program name.
Double-ClickHow you quickly select a word.
DesktopThe screen on your monitor. Your main work area on your computer.
IconsPicture symbols for programs and documents on your desktop.
Start ButtonLocated in the lower left corner of the Taskbar.
MouseA tool for getting around the desktop.
PointMoving the mouse so that the pointer points to an item.
ClickPressing the left mouse button once and letting go.
DragPressing and holding down the left mouse button and moving the pointer to another location.
Right-ClickPressing the right mouse button once and letting go.
WindowThe place that software displays on the monitor.
Close buttonButton in the upper right corner of a window. Displays as a red X. Used to close the window or program.
Restore buttonButton in the upper right corner of a window. Displays as an overlapping square. Used to make a window or program smaller so you have the ability to resize the window.
Maximize buttonButton in the upper right corner of a window. Displays as a square. Used to make a window or program fill the entire screen area.
Minimize buttonButton in the upper right corner of a window. Displays as a - . Used to minimize a window or program to the taskbar.
PointerThe arrow that represents the mouse's position on the screen
Scroll barsLocated at the bottom and right side of the window. You may click or drag these bars with the mouse to move around in your document.
