Fraction Vocabulary
The following vocabulary words are important for you to understand in order to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. HAVE FUN!

| Fraction | A number that names a part of a set that has a numerator and a cenominator |
| Equivalent fractions | Fractions that name the same number or are of equal value. |
| Simplist Form | A fraction is in simplest form when the numerator and the denominator have no common factor other than 1. |
| Common denominator | When the denominators in two or more fractions are the same. |
| Least Common Denominator | The least common multiple (LCM) of the denominators of two or more fractions. |
| Improper fraction | When the numerator is larger than the denominator |
| Proper fraction | Numerator is smaller than the denominator. |
| Mixed Number | A whole number and a fraction. |
