AlignmentJustification of elements. Related items should be justified the same to emphasize their relationship to each other. Ex. Left align, right align, center
BorderA line or graphic applied around an individual item such as a picture or text box.
BrochureUsed to inform or advertise, such as a description of the AP (Advanced Placement) program at a school or the pathways within each career cluster.
Business cardA publication that contains contact information for a business or individual. Used to help recipients remember you or your business
FlyerUsed to advertise a one-time upcoming event such as a play or PTSA meeting.
FillThe coloring of the interior of an object or textbox.
FontThe type design for an entire set of characters, the distinctive design of a set of type, distinguished by its weight, posture, and type size. Ex. Times New Roman
GroupingThe feature that creates one object out of individual parts.
Hard EnterThe process of moving the cursor to the next line by pressing the enter button in a Microsoft Office word document.
Leader/LeadingPrinting rows of dots or hyphens used to guide the reader's eye across a page, as in a table of contents.
Letterhead stationeryImplies the use of a heading at the top and sometimes also at the bottom of a letter. Used by businesses, organizations, or individuals to communicate a message and relay contact information.
Line WidthThe thickness of a line.
LogoA symbol, picture or saying that creates an image of a company.
NewsletterUsed to provide informational updates to a specific club, group, or organization on a regular basis – weekly, monthly, or quarterly.
Page BorderA page border is artwork that frames the document.
Sans Serif fontA font without embellishment. Example “Arial”
Serif fontA font with embellishment.
Stacking/LayeringObjects, such as text or images, placed on top of one another.
Text boxA graphical user interface, a rectangular widget for entering text; a box into which one can type text.
WatermarkAny text or picture that appears behind regular text in a document.
White spaceThe blank or negative space on a page that is used to give the reader’s eyes a break. White space does not have to be white.
