| Font | The type design for an entire set of characters, the distinctive design of a set of type, distinguished by its weight, posture, and type size. Ex. Times New Roman |
| Grouping | The feature that creates one object out of individual parts. |
| Hard Enter | The process of moving the cursor to the next line by pressing the enter button in a Microsoft Office word document. |
| Leader/Leading | Printing rows of dots or hyphens used to guide the reader's eye across a page, as in a table of contents. |
| Letterhead stationery | Implies the use of a heading at the top and sometimes also at the bottom of a letter. Used by businesses, organizations, or individuals to communicate a message and relay contact information. |
| Line Width | The thickness of a line. |
| Logo | A symbol, picture or saying that creates an image of a company. |
| Newsletter | Used to provide informational updates to a specific club, group, or organization on a regular basis – weekly, monthly, or quarterly. |

| Sans Serif font | A font without embellishment. Example “Arial” |
| Serif font | A font with embellishment. |
| Stacking/Layering | Objects, such as text or images, placed on top of one another. |
| Text box | A graphical user interface, a rectangular widget for entering text; a box into which one can type text. |
| Watermark | Any text or picture that appears behind regular text in a document. |
| White space | The blank or negative space on a page that is used to give the reader’s eyes a break. White space does not have to be white. |
