Dependent Variable | The figure that is being measured in the experiment (The point of the experiment) |
Independent Variable | The figure that the scientist is changing in order to test the experiment |
Graph Title | Either 'y-axis vs. x-axis' or 'Effect of x-axis on y-axis' |
Graph Labels | Independent Variable on the x-axis, Dependent Variable on the y-axis |
Graph Units | The form of measurement that is used is written next to the label on the graph of the reader can make sense of the numbers |
Bar Graph | A graph that shows averages or levels for qualitative data (data that isn't numbers, like in the Boat experiment) |
Line Graph | A graph that shows a trend, by connecting the dots to form a jagged line |
Scatterplot | The graph most commonly used in science, it shows patterns by plotting data and then drawing a LINE OF BEST FIT |
