| x-height | The distance between the baseline and mean line of type |
| Baseline | the imaginary line where a line of text rests |
| Modern Typeface | Typeface with high contrasted thick and thin lines. Not good for lots of type |
| Serif Typeface | Type with semi-structural etails on the ends of letters and symbols and thick and thin areas |
| San Serif Typeface | Type with the same thickness all the way around |
| Script Typeface | Type that looks like cursive |
| Decorative typeface | Type that is very unique used for titles or a few words |
| en dash | a (-) that is used in place of "to" Ex: A-Z |
| em dash | A line that is used to show a pause in a sentence |
