| Concentration Camp | A place that Nazis sent the Jews (as well as other enemies of Hitler). People here were forced to work at hard labor. When they were too weak to work any more, they were sent to other places where they were put to death. |

| Final Solution | Hitler's plan to rid the world of the Jewish race. He decided to kill all the Jews in Europe. |
| Genocide | The deliberate destruction of a race or group of people. |
| Holocaust | The time during WWII when Hitler decided to kill all the Jews in Europe. During this time he tortured and murdered six million Jews. He also tortured and murdered five million other people who he considered to be inferior or enemies of his politics. |
| Nazi | Hitler's party. It stands for the National Socialist German Worker's Party. |
| Propaganda | Persuading someone to believe in an idea or product using words and advertising. |
| Resistance | A group of people who secretly fight against their oppressors during a war. There was a very successful group of these people who operated against Hitler in Denmark and France during World War II. |
| Scapegoat | A person, Group, or thing that bears the blame for the mistakes or crimes of others. |
| Swastika | The Symbol used by the Nazi party. This symbol is very old, but since the Nazis used this symbol, it has become a hated sign and is now banned in Germany. |
| Synagogue | The building where Jews gather to worship. |
