Physical activity.is any kind of movement that causes your body to use energy.Health experts recomend that teens get 60 minutes of physical activity daily.
Lifestyle activities.are physical activities that are part of your day-to-day routine or recreation.They can become part of a lifelong commitment to fitness.
Physical fitness.See Figure 5.1is the ability to handle everyday physical work and play without becoming tired.Physical activity also contributes to physical fitness.
Elements of Fitness.there are five elements of fitness:muscle endurance,heart lung endurance,extrength,flexibility,and body composition.These elements help you find out how physically fit you are.
Endurance.is the ability to keep up a physical activity without becoming overly tired.There are two.Muscle endurance,Heart and lung endurance.
Stamina.is your ability to stick with a task or activity for a long period of time.Both kinds of endurance help build stamina without getting tired or out of breath.
Strength.is the ability of your muscle to exert a force.Muscles help support your bones and make your joints stronger.
Flexibility.is the ability to move body joints through a full range of motion.For the joints to be able to move easily the muscles,tendons,ligaments around them can't be too tight.
Exercise.to exercise is planned,structured,repetitive physical activity that improves or maintains physical fitness.
The F.I.T.T. principle.is a method for safely increasing aspects of your workout without injuring yourself.F for frequency. I for intensity.T for time.T for type.Pay close attention to the F.I.T.T. level that is best for you.
The P.R.I.C.E. principle.The letters in P.R.I.C.E. stand for Protect,Rest,Ice,Compress,and Elevate.The sooner the treatment is applied the better..
Sports gear.Figure 5.6includes sports clothing and safety equipment
Drink water.Your body can lose a lot of water through perspiration,or sweat.It is important to replace this lost fluid.Drink plenty water.
