| maelstrom | (n) literally, a violent whirlpool. Figuratively, a disordered situation. TIP- if you transpose the letters at the end, you get "storm," which is what could cause a violent whirlpool or disordered state of affairs :) |
| myopic | (adj). Literally, deals with nearsightedness. Figuratively, pertains to someone who doesn't think things through, shortsighted |
| overt | (adj) something out in the open; not concealed. TIP- Remember that "covert" is "Covered" or concealed, and if you remove the "c", you UNCOVER it...making it OVERT! |
| incendiary | (adj) LITERALLY- used for setting something on fire FIGURATIVELY- something that could cause conflicts or problems TIP- This sort of reminds us of "incinerator", which is where we burn things. |
