WWI | This war started because Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated. In the early 1900s, leading countries around the world were still acting on their Imperialistic ideals by seizing control of weaker nations. Many of these nation began building up their military and forming alliances in order to avoid losing control of these colonies to competitive nations. MANIA (the acts of militarism and building alliances, the ideas of nationalism and imperialism, and an assassination), which all led to the start of World War I in Europe. |
