Coarse foods, fried foods, highly seasoned foods, pastries, raw fruits and veggies, alcohol, carbonated beverages, nuts, coffee, tea, smoked and salted meats and fish need to be avoided
Fat Restricted or Low-FatIndicated for pts with gallbladder and liver disease, obesity, and certain heart diseases. Cream, whole milk, cheese, fats, fatty meats, rich desserts, chocolate, fried foods, salad dressings, nuts, and coconut need to be avoided.
CardiacRestricts the amount of fat and cholesterol intakes in order to prevent elevated triglyceride and cholesterol blood levels. Foods such as high-fat meats, whole milk, ice cream, and rich desserts need to be avoided. The amount of sodium in this diet is limited to help prevent and control the buildup of fluids around the heart and legs. Also helps correct blood pressure.
RenalDesigned for pre-dialysis and dialysis patients. The goal is to control the intake of protein, sodium, potassium, phosphorous, and fluids.
Dysphagia ChoppedProvides fluids and easily swallowed foods that don’t require excessive chewing. The consistence of meals is altered. Thickened liquids are utilized.
