What is the definition of persuasion?using words to influence or change the way others think or act
What is the goal of persuasion?to convince your reader that your point of view is correct; to tell that your opinion is more correct, stronger, more logical
What does refute mean?to prove to be wrong opposing arguments (as in a fact) or to offer a counterargument (as in an opinion)
Define thesis statetmene and what it does in persuasive writing?lets the reader know where you stand on an issue or topic. It gives your position which should be strong, concise, and capture the reader's interest
What are the steps for persuasive writing?state a thesis in a positive manner, support opinions with facts, reasons and examples and quotations; refute opposing arguments; restate thesis include most powerful supporting detail and ask for agreement
