Stealing | Biff steals basketballs, a suit, and a fountain pen. It is a bad habit of his and has gotten him in trouble. It symbolizes Biff's lack of stability in his life in combination with the need to keep up appearances. |
Stockings | Willy's mistress has new ones and his wife has to mend hers. Biff gets upset when he sees Willy give his mother's stockings to his mistress; Willy also feels guilty. They can symbolize Willy's infidelity, his flighty personality, and could be linked to abandondment issues from his childhood. |

"Isn't that remarkable" | This phrase is signifcant because Willy repeats this phrase when he has epiphanies. This is significant, because many times his realizations are just the opposite - not reality. |
Losing Weight/Getting Married | These topics come up when Happy is trying to get his father's attention. Biff receives most of the attention, so Happy has to try and overcompensate. |
