| character | Any single letter, number, symbol, or punctuation mark. |

| Modifying styles | can change the appearance of the document by changing the formatting, changing the alignment, line spacing, font color/size etc. Changing a style can be applied only to apply to only the document or the Styles group. |
| Format Painter | will allow you to copy the same attributes once or many times. This process saves time in having to repeat the same commands. |
| Clear formatting | feature clears all formatting and returns the text to plain text and is located in two locations with the first being on the Font group and the second in the Styles group in the More menu. |
