Certified check | A check that is guaranteed by a bank. |
Cashier Check | A check guaranteed by a bank, drawn on the bank's own funds and signed by a cashier |
Money Order | Printed order for payment of a specified sum, issued by a bank or post office. |
Stop-Payment Order | A request a bank or other financial insititution not cash a particular check |
Endorsement | A signature on the back of a check to allow the check to be cashed. |
Restrictive Endorsement | A signature on the back of a check that allows the check to be deposited only into an account and not cash issued. |
Blank Endorsement | A signature on the back of a check to allow the check to be cashed by the person it is written to |
Check Register | A document, usually part of the general ledger, used to record financial transactions in cash |
Bank Reconcililation | The difference between the bank balance shown on a bank statement and an organization's records |
Signature Card | A card that must be signed by an individual who is opening an account at a bank or other similar institution to verify identity |
Deposit | A sum of money placed in a bank account |

Credit Union | A non-profit finacial insitution that is owned by its members and organized for their benefit |

Minimum Balance | The amount that you must keep at least of in an account to avoid bank fees |

EFT | electronic funds transfer - to move money automatically from one account to another |
